Completely anecdotal from the small sample of conversations I’ve had, it seems like Giving Tuesday was a flop this year.

What’s different this year than past years?
I came on here to ask the exact same thing! In terms of performance, we were down dollars and pledges. We had a more robust page including three target designations (Food, Mental Health, and Wellness resources,) and saw the most success with our food pantry. We shared the page on social media and even had a very well-produced video about a student to encourage constituents to donate, but fell short– an email was also sent.
I was hoping that with a nice student story, meaningful designations, and a better social media presence we would have had more success, but alas, we did not.
