Hi All,
Q – love any feedback.
Annual Gala coming up with multiple honorees. We received an inquiry from a prominent NPO who is connected to one of the honorees. They asked about discounted tickets/NPO rate to attend, to be able to celebrate the honoree.
Does your NPO have a policy addressing this? Do you honor these requests? While we greatly respect want they want to do and why, we are hesitant to start this precedent for several reasons.
We are considering offering a significantly discounted NPO rate for a journal ad instead, but are considering all options.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or feedback.
If you’re honoring the person because of their work with the NPO that requested a discounted price, it would likely go a long way with your honoree if you extended them a special price – you could also ask in return for special pricing, the NPO highlight the reward the honoree received with your org in their newsletter?
If you plan to extend a discount rate to the anonymous public through a journal ad, why not segment that same code for the NPO in question? Or, offer them the same rate. The NPO is offering you access to an engaged audience.
What benefit does it serve your org to prevent the recipient’s NPO from attending at a special rate?
